Tunnel Wave final

Tunnel Wave and How I made it

Here’s how I made the wave tunnel. I took an iPhone panorama at the beach. Making sure that the left and right side kinda line up.

First I brought the panorama into photoshop and duplicated the photo layer. Then I resized the image size to be a square.  The next step was to scale the photo to fit the square. The photo looks distorted. Next I flattened the layers and applied the Polar Coordinates effect. After I applied the effect I touched up the image by getting rid of the seam, cloning, adding clouds and sun.

This Ain’t a Scene Book

Here’s a neat project I got to work on. Its a photo book of an art/music show that my friend put together. It was a huge hit and I got to design a cool book. Plus I got a copy of the book!

Pam Schaffer photo

I got this photo but it wasn’t quite a square, so I added some color to around the border. I picked the color to match.

I really liked this image but it was really tall. I filled in the side with a gradient that I thought matched the singers hair.

James Dean Calendar

This calendar won the silver award from the Calendar Marketing Association. I’m really happy with the way it came out looking fresh.

Cover design of plug-in Prius

In September 2011 I art directed this cover for Design News. We needed to get a shot of the new Toyota Plug-In Hybrid. At the time there were only three cars available for show in the U.S. luckily one was in Detroit. I had worked with Jeffery White before and knew he’d like this assignment, so I called him up and asked if he could shot the cover. He agreed and had this idea to shoot it near a city and to catch the golden hour light. The way it was shot gave the car some color and made it look futuristic. I remember it was really important to get the charger port door on the left of the car since that was the only visible difference with the regular hybrid. In the end I was really happy with the way it came out.
